January Market Report
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 3, 2017 – Memphis-area home sales for January increased 15.6 percent from a year ago, with 1,134 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Sales were down 23.7 percent from December, when there were 1,487 total sales. Average sales price from January-to-January was up 6.9 percent, at $151,222. Inventory decreased 7.9 percent, with 4,344 units listed for sale. January/YTD sales volume was up 23.6 percent at $171.5 million.
“This January was a busier month than January 2016,” said MAAR President Tommie Criswell. “The market has remained strong, even in winter.”
